Job Purpose The Maintenance Intern will be responsible for supporting various maintenance activities within our organization, under the supervision of experienced team members. This includes participating in the planning, design and implementation of various process and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing plant environment. Responsibility Identify gaps to improve the operation of equipment. Work closely with leadership team, multi functional teams or members of other departments to help in optimizing processing procedures Responsible to document project, procedures or one point lessons generated from the project Communicate and train processes or procedures to hourly or salary personnel as required to sustain new implementations or improvements Track progress adequately of the required actions and provide updates and feedback to manager. Creating PM plans, updating BOM’s in SAP in order to optimize preventative maintenance program in a critical line or equipment Work with SAP to optimize or implement new work management systems such as the notification system. Work with maintenance team to troubleshoot problems and perform preventive maintenance Assisting on general maintenance projects Update engineering drawings and labels Participate in the installation of new equipment Qualifications Currently enrolled in an engineering program (e.g., industrial, mechanical, chemical, or food engineering) Enjoys solving problems and making logical decisions Basic understanding of engineering principles and concepts, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context Proficiency in computer-aided design software (CAD) and technical engineering tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail Communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively within a team Motivated to learn and open to meeting new challenges Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively Competency Care Dare Inspire Share What Lactalis Will Offer Lactalis Canada believes in rewarding its people with the following package for contract employees: A Competitive Base Salary 8% vacation pay Health & Dental Benefits starting day 1 Learning and Development opportunities Potential for future full time permanent opportunities! Compensation As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is: $26 – $28. Please note: Along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
