Job summary

Maintain data center service availability by diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining server and networking equipment, while investigating hardware and software failures. Provide technical support and training, develop scripts and documentation, manage inventory, and respond to on-call equipment failures or emergencies.

Pay Range: CAD 34-37/hr Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability.Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs.Root cause analysis of hardware and software failures.Training of internal teams.Development of documentation.Provide technical support to data center teams.Development of scripts to update the server and networking hardware.Maintain inventory.Assemble and install equipment.Perform maintenance of test and tool equipment.Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to other data center locations as required by business needs.Essential duties include the ability to respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call. Who You Are:Computer Hardware experience (troubleshooting| assembling)Linux Operating System experience.Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods to perform diagnostic and repair tasks.Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces| such as under-floor areas or on ladders| to access server racks.Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills| such as handling small hardware components and cables.Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment| including participating in a rotating on-call shift.Excellent time management| organizational| and communication skills.Must be able to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues.Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled data center. Candidates must be able to perform essential job duties in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and variable airflow - specifically within designated hot and cold aisles - ranging from 60F to 90F.Preferred:Hands-on OR education-based experience with any of the following areas:Computer Hardware| including troubleshooting and repair skills experienceData Center experienceComputer Networking experiencePython| Bash| or other scripting languages experienceExperience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOSAn Associates Degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field

The role requires physical ability to handle equipment up to 50 pounds, work in varied data center conditions and confined or elevated spaces, travel up to 10%, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
