Job summary
Pay Range: CAD 55-60/hr We are seeking an experienced Windows 365 Solution Architect with extensive expertise in End User Computing (EUC), cloud virtualization, and Microsoft modern workplace technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments while ensuring security, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. This role requires strong architectural leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to engage with stakeholders to define and deliver enterprise-grade virtual desktop solutions. Key Responsibilities - Design, architect, and implement Windows 365 (W365) and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions. - Lead virtual desktop transformation initiatives and modern workplace programs. - Assess business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable cloud desktop architectures. - Perform cost modeling, licensing analysis, and optimization for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop environments. - Design and implement highly available, resilient, and secure cloud virtualization solutions. - Configure and manage Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, device compliance, application deployment, and policy administration. - Define and implement identity and access management strategies using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). - Design and support Azure networking components including Virtual Networks (VNet), VPN, ExpressRoute, network security, and connectivity architectures. - Ensure solutions align with enterprise security, governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements. - Create architecture documents, technical designs, implementation plans, and operational runbooks. - Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. - Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and best-practice recommendations for EUC and virtualization environments. Required Qualifications -8–10+ years of experience in End User Computing (EUC), desktop virtualization, and cloud technologies. Strong hands-on experience with: - Windows 365 (W365) deployment, administration, and management - Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architecture, deployment, and operations - Microsoft Intune endpoint management and policy configuration Proven experience performing cost analysis, capacity planning, and optimization for AVD and W365 environments. Deep understanding of: - Azure Networking (VNet, VPN, ExpressRoute) - Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) - Identity and Access Management (IAM) - Security and compliance frameworks Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable cloud solutions. Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and documentation skills. Ability to lead architecture discussions and drive technical decision-making. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft certifications related to: - Azure Solutions Architecture - Azure Virtual Desktop - Microsoft Intune - Microsoft Entra ID Experience with cloud migration and digital workplace transformation initiatives. Knowledge of automation and scripting technologies such as PowerShell. Familiarity with enterprise security and governance best practices.
