Program Overview Languages Canada, a Government of Canada-recognized organization under International Experience Canada (IEC), is accepting applications for an English Teaching Assistant internship placement in San Donato Milanese, near Milan, Italy, offered through our Working Holiday Program. ______________________ Placement Details Location: San Donato Milanese, Milan region, Italy (in person, on-site) Placement period: approx. January 15, 2027 - May 15, 2027 Duration: 4 months Classroom teaching/support: 12 hours per week Monthly stipend: €700 Housing: Not included, but local guidance or connection with a host family may be available This 4-month placement is a unique opportunity for a recent graduate to support English-language learning while gaining international classroom experience and immersing themselves in the local culture. The selected candidate will work alongside a tenured English teacher to support students in developing their English communication skills, with a focus on language learning connected to professional and technical fields. The teaching assistant will support English-language activities connected to the following fields of study: AFM – Administration, Finance, and Marketing CAT – Construction, Environment, and Territory This may include supporting students with English vocabulary, communication practice, presentations, classroom activities, and subject-related language tasks in these areas. ______________________ Eligibility Requirements Ideal candidates should be: eligible for the Working-Holiday or Study/Intern visa currently completing or having completed university-level education, preference given to AFM and CAT fields listed above motivated, adaptable, and ready to live and work abroad comfortable working with students in a school environment available for the full placement period from approx. January 15 to May 15, 2027 ______________________ Responsibilities Selected interns are expected to: support English-language learning in a professional and respectful manner assist the tenured English teacher with classroom and student engagement activities prepare for assigned activities, presentations, and lessons support subject-related English communication activities in AFM and CAT follow school rules, procedures, and expectations communicate regularly with their host teacher or school advisor be flexible and open to adapting to the school’s needs represent Canada positively complete the agreed placement period responsibly ______________________ What’s Included application review and candidate screening by Languages Canada placement matching with the host school, if selected support with travel preparation and visa-related guidance monthly stipend of €700 supervision by a tenured English teacher or school advisor ongoing communication and support during the placement What’s Not Included Applicants should be prepared to cover or arrange: flights to and from Italy housing, unless local support or a host family option is available meals and personal expenses health/travel insurance visa or permit-related costs Why Apply?
