MECHANIC Location: Ontario,Canada Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Budget: CAD $55,000–$80,000/year, depending on experience and qualifications Industry: Automotive / Heavy Equipment / Industrial Services Job Summary Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to diagnose, repair, maintain, and service vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing. Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate diagnostic tools. Replace or repair damaged components, engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical parts. Perform oil changes, lubrication, adjustments, and equipment servicing. Read and interpret technical manuals, service documents, and mechanical diagrams. Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets required operating standards. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenance activities. Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery safely. Coordinate with supervisors and other technicians to complete repair and maintenance work efficiently. Follow Canadian workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in Mechanics or a related field is preferred. 2–5+ years of relevant mechanical experience. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques. Experience using mechanical and diagnostic tools. Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and service documentation. Good problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Valid driver's licence may be required depending on the position. Red Seal certification or provincial trade certification is an asset for applicable mechanic positions. Ability to work safely in a workshop, industrial, construction, or field environment.
