Job summary
Legal Books Inc. provides specialized bookkeeping and financial management services to law firms across Canada, including bookkeeping, trust accounting, payroll, and compliance support. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Bookkeeper to manage bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple law firm clients. IMPORTANT: Please do not apply unless you have previous experience working with law firms and/or legal accounting software such as Clio, Soluno, Cosmolex, PCLaw, or similar systems. Legal accounting experience is required. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple law firm clients Work with legal accounting/practice management software Complete monthly trust/general reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts Prepare and review financial reports Assist with HST calculations and filings Prepare year-end accounting records and reports Assist with Law Society compliance and reporting Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies Communicate directly with law firm clients Manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities independently Qualifications 2–3+ years of bookkeeping experience Required: Hands-on experience with legal accounting software Experience with Clio, Soluno, Cosmolex, PCLaw, or similar platforms Strong understanding of law firm trust accounting Knowledge of Canadian accounting, HST, and payroll requirements Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills and ability to work independently Why Join Legal Books Inc.?
