Job summary

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Network Engineer for an 18-month contract with its Ottawa/Toronto-based customer. Work Location Remote Key Tasks Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure Support and manage Cisco, FortiGate, and F5 BIG-IP technologies Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF Perform firewall administration, policy updates, security enhancements, and troubleshooting Execute network hardening activities and support vulnerability remediation initiatives Perform device patching and lifecycle management activities Work within established change management processes to implement network changes safely and effectively Support hardware refresh initiatives, including occasional after-hours maintenance windows Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams on network security initiatives Provide technical expertise and recommendations for evolving network architecture Maintain documentation, diagrams, and technical procedures Effectively leverage approved AI tools to improve productivity while maintaining security and compliance standards Key Qualifications 7+ years of experience in enterprise routing and switching with strong hands-on Cisco networking expertise, including BGP and OSPF 5+ years of hands-on FortiGate firewall experience, including firewall administration, device hardening, and vulnerability remediation Proven ability to independently assess complex technical issues and execute solutions within strict change management processes Qualifications Experience with F5 BIG-IP, ServiceNow, and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions Experience with Cloudflare, Palo Alto, cloud and virtual firewall solutions, and cloud interconnectivity Familiarity with Zero Trust security architecture principles Cisco CCNP or equivalent networking certification Fortinet certifications Cloud certifications (GCP or Azure preferred) Strong communication skills including ability to create technical documentation and diagrams Willingness to participate in occasional after-hours support and travel within Canada Compensation Hourly Rate Negotiable This is an existing position vacancy.
