JOB DESCRIPTION : We are seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher for Canadian public sector projects. RESPONSIBILITIES : User research activities to support discovery of user needs and evaluation of user performance including a range of moderated and unmoderated usability testing as well as a range of user research methods, depending on the problem space (surveys, diary studies, interviews); Content-related user research activities including card sorts, tree jack testing, content understanding, content discovery; Research reports; Presentations to communicate research insights and recommendations; Addition of relevant insights to the design system specifications; and Addition of insights to the UX research repository for future reuse. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : Post-secondary education mandatory. More than ten (10) years' experience as a UX Researcher. Experience in artificial intelligence (AI), specifically Claude Code. Experience in conducting all the following research activities: User interviews; Usability testing; Accessibility testing; Demonstrated ability to scope, plan, manage, and execute all aspects of user research studies including: Determining appropriate research methods; Defining research plan; Recruiting participants; Research moderation; Data collection and analysis; or, Documentation, insights and presentation of actionable recommendations. Making recommendations specific to a variety of UX activities including but not limited to: Information architecture (IA); Content design; Interface design; and Service design. Applying research ethics, data privacy, accessibility, and inclusive lenses to all stages of research activities. Experience working in Agile product team environments. Spoken and written English required. Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability) and former public sector work experience an asset.
