Job summary
Liebherr-Canada is looking for senior Field Technicians, to support a significant Mining project with Elk Valley Resources, owned by Glencore Canada, in Sparwood, British Columbia. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced technicians to bring their expertise and play a key role in the success of this initiative. On this project, you will work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts, and with the opportunity for overtime on days off. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective repair and maintenance of machinery and components on heavy equipment, in the field, ensuring a high level of service quality and customer satisfaction. Given the nature of the project and the proposed schedule, we are welcoming Field Technicians from Sparwood, Vancouver, Medicine Hat, LethBridge, Red Deer, Kamploops, Kelowna, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Starwood, Calgary, Edmonton, among other adjacent locations. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned Perform pre-delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation Occasionally perform servicing on Liebherr machinery as directed, including fluid checks, and sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc. Ensure components, material and/or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and complete Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical document including service reports Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy Support in Shop repairs/work as requested Other duties as assigned Competencies Canadian/Alberta Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty related activities Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings You are able to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner You are self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite Our Offer Competitive wages with overtime opportunities available Extensive benefits with employer paid premiums starting day 1 $5000 annual License Bonus* Paid vacation starting at 3 weeks PLUS 6 dedicated family, health and wellness days 6% employer RRSP matching $3000 annual allowance for continued education $600 Annual Boot allowance for Liebherr Technicians $400 Prescription Safety Glasses allowance International training & development work opportunities for select roles* Top of the line equipment And much more!
