Job summary
Job Title: Supervisor, Engineering Job Summary The engineering supervisor manages a team of engineers, overseeing daily operations, tasks assignments and ensuring quality work while providing technical support and mentorship Responsibility * Oversees daily activities of engineering staff, ensuring tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards * Manage project budgets, track expenses and ensure cost control measures are in place. * Assign, train, develop and supervise manufacturing engineers, student engineers, outside vendors * Provide technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to succeed. * Identify and implement process improvements and/or new technologies to increase efficiency and productivity * Assists in planning and coordination of new engineering analysis tools, such as CAD, CAD/CAM system, CAT, quotation sheet * Liaise with other departments (e.g., production, materials, QA) to coordinate activities and resolve issues * Oversees the design, development and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems * Ensure that all manufacturing processes meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and safety standards protocols * Stay current with industry trends and technologies to incorporate best practices into engineering processes * Set goals, evaluate performance and provide feedback and development opportunities for team members * Monitor and enforce quality control processes to maintain high standards of work Academic/Educational Requirements * A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent * Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practices as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) Required Skills/Experience * 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering environment * Strong leadership and team management skills * In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process, lean manufacturing principle and continuous improvement methodologies * Advanced understanding of GD&T, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, process flow, control plans, ECNs, etc... * Proficiency in Solidworks/AutoCAD software, ERP systems and other manufacturing – related tools * Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments What Linamar Has to Offer * Competitive Compensation * Employee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc. * Opportunities for career advancement. * Sustainability Council * Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities. * Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.
