Position Summary We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Draftsperson with a strong background in structural steel, stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous metals. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Tekla Structures and possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant drafting experience. You will be responsible for producing detailed shop and erection drawings, coordinating with project managers and engineers, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate shop drawings, erections drawings and 3D models using industry standard detailing software (Eg. Tekla Structures) Develop detailed fabrication and erection drawings for stairs, handrails, guardrails, platforms, ladders, and structural framing. Interpret and apply project specifications, architectural and structural drawings. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawing accuracy and project requirements. Review and incorporate RFI responses, design revisions, and change orders into project deliverables. . Prepare bolt lists, material takeoffs, CNC/NC data, and reports required for fabrication and erection. Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with applicable codes and company guidelines. Assist in clash detection and resolving design issues during the detailing phase. Qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in structural steel detailing. Proficiency in modeling and detailing stairs, handrails, and structural steel is required. Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures. In depth knowledge of CISC, and relevant building codes and standards. Strong understanding of fabrication and erection practices. Excellent knowledge of industry standards, welding symbols, and connection detailing. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong communication and team collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in steel fabrication or construction industry. Experience working on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Associate’s degree or technical diploma in drafting or a related field.
