Horace Allen School requires a full time (30.5 hrs/week) Educational Assistant. This position will commence as soon as a successful candidate is found and will end June 29, 2027. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Learning Support and Administrative teams, the successful candidate will provide one-on-one, small group, and class wide student support in inclusive classroom settings. Desired Qualifications Include The Following Experience working in an inclusive setting Demonstrate an ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility with programming Demonstrate an understanding of self-regulation, and has experience utilizing self-regulation tools with students Ability to attend to student personal care; including toileting Ability to work collaboratively with the School Support Team and outside agencies Ability to work independently to follow goals and implement strategies as determined by the school team and service providers, along with data collection as required Experience working with the visually impaired and/or a knowledge of braille is an asset Experience with therapeutic sensory programming is an asset Certification from accredited Teaching Assistant Program or equivalent is an asset SIVA training/certification is an asset Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Horace Allen School located in Coleman, Alberta is a Pre-K - Grade 3 School with approximately 180 students.
