About the Role Reporting to the HSE Team Lead, the HSSE Field Advisor is an exceptional collaborator with strong emotional intelligence and a passion for fostering a positive HSSE culture across LNG Canada's operations and maintenance activities. This role requires extensive knowledge of LNG Canada's HSSE Management System, standards, and manuals, along with demonstrated experience applying HSSE principles in both Commissioning, Start-Up (CSU) and Operations environments. Committed to achieving injury-free operations in a complex and hazardous setting, the successful candidate leads through honesty, integrity, and respect, building trusted relationships with colleagues and contractors alike. As a key member of the Asset HSSE team, the HSSE Field Advisor supports the readiness, implementation, and performance monitoring of HSSE Management Systems within the LNG Canada HSSE Control Framework. Acting as a focal point for site-based HSSE processes and procedures, this role works closely with the workforce to simplify safe work practices, encourage engagement, and incorporate frontline insights into continuous improvement. Through collaboration and practical field support, the HSSE Field Advisor helps ensure that HSSE controls are effective, fit for purpose, and aligned with the realities of work being performed on site. You will use your expertise to: HSSE Leadership & Safety Culture Provide visible field leadership by maintaining a strong presence in the field, engaging with the workforce, demonstrating curiosity, and seeking feedback to continuously improve ways of working. * Support and coach the implementation of LNG Canada's Safety Culture Philosophy and behavioural-based safety programs. * Drive the effectiveness and efficiency of HSSE procedures through workforce engagement, active listening, simplification of documentation, and reduction of process variability. * Implement and support HSSE initiatives, including safety campaigns, Coaching-Based Intervention programs, HSSE alerts, and the sharing of lessons learned. * Foster a learning culture by recognizing effective practices, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous performance improvement. HSSE Management Systems & Governance * Support the implementation of the Asset HSSE Management Plan in alignment with the LNG Canada HSSE Control Framework. * Assist with the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of HSSE systems, processes, and procedures. * Support the development, review, and maintenance of HSSE documentation, including manuals, procedures, safe work practices, and work instructions. * Review investigation outcomes and operational insights to strengthen HSSE systems and improve resilience to human error. * Communicate new standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging HSSE expectations to the Asset organization. Risk Management & Safe Work Execution * Support supervisors and frontline personnel in identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace hazards. * Facilitate the development and review of risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), and risk reviews. * Support implementation and coaching of the SIMOPS Plan, including Management of Operational Permits (MOPO), Hazardous Area Classification requirements, physical area demarcation, fatigue management, maintenance execution, and defined roles and responsibilities. * Identify HSSE threats within operational areas and assess common risks across the site. * Support safe execution of turnaround maintenance activities and major projects within assigned areas. Incident Management & Continuous Improvement * Support incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up activities to ensure timely reporting and effective corrective actions. * Coach personnel in the use of the Incident Management System, including reporting, monitoring, quality control, and maintaining appropriate risk-ranking methodologies. * Conduct and support investigations of incidents and near misses to foster continuous improvement and organizational learning. * Share lessons learned with employees and contractors to prevent recurrence and drive ongoing improvement. Assurance, Compliance & Verification * Perform regular field inspections, worksite walks, and job reviews to verify compliance with HSSE requirements and safe work practices. * Proactively monitor operational activities to ensure protection of personnel, the environment, and equipment in accordance with approved procedures. * Conduct and participate in Internal Assurance Audits, with a focus on Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Life-Saving Rules (LSR), Process Safety Fundamentals (PSF), hot work, confined space entry, road transport, and contractor HSSE management. Emergency Preparedness & Response * Support the development, maintenance, and implementation of Asset Emergency Response Plans and protocols. * Participate in emergency response drills, exercises, and preparedness activities to strengthen organizational readiness. Stakeholder Engagement & Contractor Management * Build constructive working relationships with contractors and support post-award contractor HSSE management activities. * Collaborate with Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Security, and Environment teams to provide integrated field-based HSSE support and address emerging risks. * Serve as a trusted advisor to the workforce by encouraging participation, gathering feedback, and ensuring HSSE controls are practical, effective, and aligned with operational realities. To be successful, you will have: * Minimum 5 years in HSSE Field experience preferably in Major Petrochemical, oil & gas, and large project application. * 10 years of Industrial Manufacturing, Petrochemical experience in field production, maintenance and support functions * Experienced in HSSE application during Turn Around events. * Strong passion for HSE, drive to build and change HSE culture. * Knowledge, within HSSE Control Framework, including Safety Management Systems. * Demonstration of the ability to implement HSSE Management Systems. * Working knowledge of HSSE principles and their applicability to Transition (CSU) and Operate (Aftercare) phases. * Maintain high visible safety presence on site, approximately 80% of time in the field. * Strong communication and listening skills that display interpersonal effectiveness with the ability to coach, mentor coworkers and influence without formal authority. * Role-model as Learner Mindset and support learning as a deliberate improvement strategy. * Help foster psychological safety for the Asset. * Demonstrated progressive work experiences in HSSE space. This role requires that you: * Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit) * Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). Plant design conditions provide structures that are significantly taller than common in industry, individuals must be comfortable with heights. * Can work wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) when required. * Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures. * Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs. * Monday to Friday, work 40hrs per week * Know that this role may be expected to be on call on a rotational basis during the year and/or during site specific situations. * Have a valid driver’s license * Know that this is not a fly-in, fly-out rotation role. The HSSE Field Advisor provides visible field leadership to foster a positive safety culture and ensures effective implementation of HSSE management systems. They support risk management, incident investigations, and compliance verification while collaborating with the workforce and contractors to maintain safe operational standards.

Candidates must have at least 5 years of field HSSE experience in major petrochemical or oil and gas projects, with a total of 10 years in industrial manufacturing or production environments. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and reside in the Kitimat/Terrace region.
