About the Role The Senior Project Specialist, Brownfield Projects will be a foundational member of the LNG Canada Asset Brownfield Projects team, helping establish the systems, processes, and tools required to support the phased execution of the initial portfolio of brownfield projects. The role is responsible for delivering projects and initiatives of varying complexity that support plant availability, process safety compliance, and overall safety performance through EPC and construction contractors. The Senior Project Engineer will be organizationally aligned with the Asset organization. This position is based full-time in either Calgary, AB or Kitimat, BC. If the role is Calgary based it will require regular travel to Kitimat, BC, including extensive travel during the first 3 to 4 months. You will use your expertise to: * Deliver a portfolio of brownfield projects, applying the appropriate level of project assurance, governance, and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle. * Lead projects through decision gates, ensuring the required level of definition, planning, assurance, decision support, and execution readiness is achieved before progressing. * Identify and mitigate project risks while managing SIMOPS in an operating LNG facility, coordinating activities across operations, maintenance, commissioning, construction, and contractor teams. * Manage engineering, execution, and delivery interfaces with Phase 2, turnaround scopes, and other asset priorities to minimize conflicts, duplication, and execution risk. * Apply appropriate project delivery frameworks, assurance models, governance requirements, cost and schedule controls, and lessons learned to drive consistent project execution and performance. * Drive alignment across engineering, operations, commissioning, maintenance, HSSE, project controls, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring actions, risks, interfaces, and key decisions are clearly owned, communicated, and driven to closure. * Communicate project status, key risks, cost and schedule performance, interface challenges, and required decisions through clear and effective weekly and monthly reporting. To be successful, you will have: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred, with the ability to obtain registration in British Columbia. * Significant project engineering experience working directly with engineering, EPC/EP, and construction contractors. * Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield projects, preferably within LNG, oil and gas, or other large-scale process plant environments. * Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex challenges across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and process engineering disciplines. * Strong understanding of project cost management, schedule execution, progress measurement, forecasting, and change control, with the ability to identify deviations early and implement corrective actions. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including stage gates, assurance reviews, approvals, and key decision milestones. * Demonstrated ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, commissioning, contractors, and functional stakeholders, while maintaining clear priorities, accountability, and delivery focus. * Experience leading contractor and internal discipline teams through all phases of project execution. * Highly self-motivated and accountable, with the initiative to drive projects forward and proactively resolve issues. * Strong commitment to schedule performance, with the discipline to establish priorities, remove barriers, and deliver on commitments. * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to navigate complex brownfield challenges involving engineering, operations, commissioning, safety, and construction constraints. * Detail-oriented and action-focused, with a strong track record of closing gaps, driving actions to completion, and translating decisions into successful field execution. * Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build alignment across engineering, operations, commissioning, maintenance, HSSE, contractors, and support functions. * Demonstrated commitment to safe and reliable execution, protecting long-term asset value while delivering projects in an active operating facility. This role requires that you: * Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency) * Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures. * Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs. * Know that during key project milestones work maybe required over weekends, and longer hours. * Are willing to work outdoors during inclement weather in all seasons including heavy snowfall and periods of heavy rain. * Are able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
