Work setting Millwork shop Commercial Responsibilities Tasks Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files. Requires at least five years of experience and an other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience. Cabinetmaker Trade Certification and a Cabinetmaker Red Seal Certificate are listed, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment and meet physical demands such as prolonged standing.
