Role: SDET / Automation Engineer Location: Canada – Remote – PST Hours Experience: 3 to 5+ years Contract role Job description: Requirement: Automation script development and maintenance; Python/Playwright Keywords: Test automation, Python, UI automation, API automation, SQL, Github Actions, Playwright, SDET, CI/CD Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts for web applications. Design and execute UI and API automation test suites using Python and Playwright. Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks for regression and functional testing. Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure high-quality software releases. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing. Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and improve automation coverage. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to test strategy and quality improvements. Support test execution across multiple environments and browsers. Requirements 5+ years of experience in QA Automation/SDET. Strong experience with Python and Playwright. Experience in UI and API automation testing. Knowledge of automation framework design and maintenance. Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.). Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Page Object Model (POM). Experience with Git and version control. Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience building and maintaining enterprise test automation frameworks. Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber/Gherkin. Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Experience testing REST APIs and web applications. Exposure to eCommerce or retail applications is a plus.
