What You’ll Be Doing * Develop features and bug fix embedded software, troubleshoot system-level customer issues involving Linux, SONiC, Docker containers, networking behavior, and platform integration. * Build and maintain AI agents for troubleshooting and coding, that analyze customer logs, embedded traces, telemetry and crash data. * Convert repeated customer issues into reusable AI workflows, log-reading rules, diagnostic tools, and support playbooks. * Partner with software development, QA, systems engineering, DevOps, field teams, and support teams to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and improve support readiness. What We’re Looking For We are looking for a software engineer to help build the next generation of customer issue resolution for embedded optical systems. This role combines AI agent development with embedded software support. The engineer will resolve complex customer issues directly while also building AI-assisted workflows that read logs, retrieve prior knowledge, recommend troubleshooting steps, and improve root-cause analysis across the support team Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Experience: * Experience with analyzing customer logs, Linux logs, SONiC logs, Docker container logs, traces, telemetry, crash dumps, and system behavior to identify likely causes and next debug steps. * Experience with reading, debugging, and modifying code in embedded system environments. * Experience with Linux-based systems, SONiC or network operating systems, Docker containers, services, system logs, networking tools, and issue reproduction environments. * Experience with creating AI diagnostic tools, support playbooks, automated triage workflows, or automated root-cause analysis systems. Asset/Nice to Have * Python scripting for automation, log parsing, data processing, or AI tool development. * Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, vector databases, langchain, tool calling, or AI agent evaluation. * Experience connecting AI workflows to support cases, knowledge bases, GitHub repositories, CI/CD systems, lab infrastructure, or customer support platforms. * Experience with C, C++, Rust and Go for systems programming, tooling, automation, services, or infrastructure development. * Experience with optical communication systems, telecom equipment, data center infrastructure, transceivers, routing/switching, or platform bring-up. * Familiarity with Cloud technologies AWS/GCP for AI agent deployments. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
