IT Support Specialist – (Travel-Contract) Are you an independent, hands-on IT professional who loves to travel and thrives in fast-paced live environments? We are partnering with a premier global company to source an IT Support Specialist for their high-profile events tour. This exciting contract opportunity gives you the chance to travel across Canada. All expenses fully covered and paid for by the company, including flights, hotels, and per diems/food. Explore Western Canada and beyond, and get paid to deploy cutting-edge event tech! This is an urgent, high-visibility contract role requiring a self-starter who can independently manage on-site technical infrastructure, troubleshoot network issues in real time, and ensure zero downtime for revenue-generating sales events. Key Responsibilities: POS & Payment Configuration: Set up, configure, and troubleshoot point-of-sale systems, including POSiflex hardware, MyPOS regional configurations, and Global Payment terminal integration. Network & Connectivity Management: Configure backup internet hubs, manage IP whitelisting with vendors like Tricity, and resolve LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi issues on-site. Hardware Setup & Teardown: Handle physical unboxing, cabling, deployment, and inventorying of IT equipment, printers, and workstations. Independent Problem Solving: Proactively diagnose root causes, troubleshoot print queues and network bottlenecks, and communicate effectively with on-site event staff. Qualifications & What We Are Looking For: Direct POS Experience: Prior hands-on experience supporting and configuring retail POS systems, payment terminals, and transaction hardware is a top priority. Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional communication abilities to coordinate seamlessly with event management, vendors, and non-technical staff under tight deadlines. Independent Execution: Proven capability to work autonomously in live retail/event environments, take full ownership of issues, and drive them to resolution. Travel Readiness: 100% committed to regional and national out-of-province travel across Canada (including Western Canada) for the duration of the event schedule, with all travel costs 100% company-paid.
