Lycopodium Americas is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer in Training to join our growing Engineering team in Mississauga, ON. Reporting to the Chief Mechanical Engineer the Mechanical Engineer in Training will be responsible for the delivery of accurate, professional and compliant design deliverables using Company approved systems and procedures. The tasks you'll perform Prepare equipment specifications, bid evaluations and review of vendor technical information Mechanical equipment list preparation and maintenance Material handling and pumping calculations and design Ensure project drawings and specifications comply with all relevant industry standards Design input to support completion of engineering drawing deliverables Ensure specified equipment is fit for purpose and sourced for projects and studies The expertise you'll bring University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent from a recognised institution. Demonstrated experience applying an engineering approach to problem solving Strong written and verbal communication skills. Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers. Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providers. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment. Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility and discretion. Provide mentoring and identify avenues of professional development. The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 to $75,000. This range is based on the role’s job family and level and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting.
