Job summary
We are looking for a Geology, Technologist to join our team at Levack Mine! The Technologist, Geology supports underground operations by collecting, recording, and interpreting geological data to ensure efficient and safe operations at Magna Mining Inc. All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence. Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties Perform underground face mapping and sampling in active development and production headings. Mark up ore zones, backs, and faces for extraction as per geological models and instructions. Collect channel and chip samples and ensure accurate and timely delivery to the lab. Support short-term ore control and stope delineation. Assist in core logging, geotechnical logging, and sample preparation. Maintain and organize sample chain of custody and database entries. Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed for sample integrity and data quality. Record geological data in standardized formats using digital tools (e.g., Geoscience databases, GIS software). Update underground maps and geological models in collaboration with geologists. Assist in monitoring ore reconciliation and provide input for mine planning. Requirements Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents Post-secondary education in Geological Technology, or a related field. Work Experience: Nature & Length 3 or more years of mine geological technology experience. Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills Knowledge of geological modeling software (e.g., Datamine). Knowledge of underground mining methods. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and safety practices in underground mining. Proficient with common computer skills including preparation of documents and presentations, spreadsheet use, database data entry, and email use. Proven analytical skills with attention to detail.
