About the Role Reporting to the Mine Planning Engineer, the Sample Processing Technician supports mine campaigns and related activities at the Penhorwood operation. The role is responsible for collecting, preparing, and analyzing samples while supporting quality control activities for the mine and plant laboratory. Responsibilities * Collect, prepare, and analyze mine samples during mining and drilling campaign. * Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory and sample preparation equipment * Complete in-house testing and coordinate sampling results with internal teams and external laboratories * Maintain accurate test records, quality reports, laboratory work instructions, and required documentation * Support mine and plant quality requirements while following and promoting company health and safety procedures * Assist with seasonal mine and mill activities and other operational priorities as required Qualifications & Experience * Certificate or diploma in minerals or mining engineering, laboratory technology, or another related technical discipline is preferred * 1-2 years of related experience * Knowledge and understanding of quality control practices and quality systems * Valid G driver’s licence Skills & Attributes * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Good understanding of sampling practices and quality requirements * Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing operational environment * Quality-focused, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities What We’re Looking For * A safety-conscious and dependable individual who is comfortable working in both laboratory and field environments * A hands-on team member who takes pride in accurate sampling, testing, and recordkeeping * Someone who can adapt to seasonal work and shifting priorities across the Penhorwood mine and mill * Ability to lift samples weighing up to 25 kg and stand for prolonged periods Why Join Magris Talc? * Hands-on exposure to mining, laboratory, and quality control activities * Opportunity to support active mine campaigns and contribute directly to operational quality * Dynamic work environment with varied seasonal responsibilities * Competitive compensation and benefits package * Supportive team culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence
