Job summary

We are currently seeking experienced Journeyman Heavy-Duty Mechanics to join our team at our Conklin, Alberta shop. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of our fleet and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a diverse range of oilfield and fluid hauling equipment to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Journeyman base rate starts at $49 and we have wage incentives and premiums such as Service Truck, CVIP, Afternoon Premium, Lead Hand, etc. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of company equipment, including: Water Trucks Tankers and Super B Tankers Body Vacs, Combo Vacs, and Semi Vacs Pressure Trucks (5K) High-Pressure Equipment (15K–40K) Chemical Trucks Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections Complete overhauls, rebuilds, and refurbishments of truck and trailer components Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and service documentation Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and fleet performance Maintain a clean and organized work area and shop environment What We’re Looking For Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification required Minimum 3 years of experience working with heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, or oilfield equipment Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence required; Class 1 Driver's Licence considered a strong asset Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues Experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work What you can expect Competitive compensation package 14 days on / 14 days off rotation - this rotation requires that you work a day shift for 14 days, and then an afternoon shift for 14 days Travel reimbursement of up-to $1,000 is also provided based on your rotation, mode of transportation and other relevant factors, and transportation to and from the Edmonton airport. Company or client camp/accommodations with private bathroom facilities, complimentary meals, and an on-site recreation area will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to undertake and pass a pre-employment screening that includes a drug and alcohol test.
