We are currently seeking experienced Skilled Labourers to join our Civil Construction team in Fox Creek, Alberta. This position is focused on water and sewer infrastructure construction and is ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career with a growing organization. Please note this position is for a remote project located in Fox Creek, Alberta, with daily Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided. Compensation & Benefits $22.00 – $33.00 per hour Daily Living Out Allowance paid each day worked outside of Calgary. Position Summary The Skilled Labourer plays a critical role in supporting civil construction operations related to water, sewer, storm, and underground utility infrastructure. The successful candidate will have previous experience working on municipal or industrial underground utility projects and possess a strong understanding of excavation, pipe installation, grading, and site servicing activities. **A minimum of 3 years of water and sewer construction experience is required for this position.** The successful candidate will be safety-focused, reliable, physically fit, and capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation of water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and underground utility systems Perform pipe installation, bedding, backfilling, compaction, and utility tie-ins Assist excavation crews and work safely around trenching operations Read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and utility locates Install manholes, catch basins, valves, hydrants, and related infrastructure Perform grading, site preparation, restoration, and cleanup activities Safely operate hand tools, compaction equipment, pumps, and small construction equipment Support operators, forepersons, pipe crews, and survey personnel Assist with utility daylighting and crossing exposures Complete daily safety documentation and hazard assessments Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards Requirements & Qualifications Mandatory Qualifications Minimum 3 years of civil construction experience Minimum 3 years of water and sewer construction experience Experience working around underground utility construction and excavation activities Valid Class 5 Driver's License Clean Driver's Abstract Ability to work a rotational schedule in Fox Creek, Alberta Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong understanding of trench safety and underground construction practices Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity Class 5 License with ability to safely tow trailers and equipment Preferred Qualifications Class 3 Driver's License Ground Disturbance Level II CSTS 2020 Standard First Aid & CPR H2S Alive Confined Space Entry Traffic Control / Flagger Certification Experience operating skid steers, compactors, loaders, or excavators Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects Apply to this Job
