Job summary
Assistant Contracts Manager Maple Reinders Constructors is looking to hire an Assistant Contracts Manager to join its Legal Group at its head office in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a full-time, salaried role. The Assistant Contracts Manager will work alongside operations, procurement, and legal professionals to support Maple’s project teams across Canada in successfully delivering civil and industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) construction projects to Maple’s clients. This role will provide direct experience with contracts management, project delivery, and claims management and is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is looking to further develop their expertise in contracts, claims, and commercial management in the construction industry. Responsibilities: Assist with reviewing, analyzing, drafting, interpreting, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and non-disclosure agreements. Support Maple’s project teams by responding to their contract-related inquiries. Assist project teams with interpreting contractual terms, complying with contractual obligations, and resolving contractual and operational issues. Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, and supporting documentation. Assist legal counsel with administering claims and disputes. Assist with preparing reports, summaries, and presentations for project leadership and senior management. Work with the systems, tools, and documents that the Legal Group uses. Qualifications and Skills: 2 to 4+ years of experience in either one of the following: contracts management, whether in construction or an unrelated industry; contract administration, commercial management, procurement, project management, or claims management, specifically in construction, infrastructure, or consulting engineering. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cooperatively as part of a team. Effective communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities. Experience with CCDC contracts and large infrastructure projects is considered an asset. A degree in law or engineering is considered an asset. A strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year (depending on experience).
