Job summary

Company: Guy Carpenter Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Broking team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Toronto. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. A Risk Analyst Co-op will support the broking team in providing the most appropriate risk management program for assigned accounts based on client needs as advised by client managers (Account Executives). The will role will focus on assisting the broking team with program summaries, cover notes and responding to client requests for information through the normal course of the reinsurance program renewal process. We will count on you to: Assist in responding to client requests for information (reinsurer financial reports, industry issues and trends, etc.), coordinating with the Market Information Department and other GC departments, as necessary Capturing market feedback and preparing program summaries as the reinsurance program renewal progresses Ensure proper documentation is completed and filed within established compliance protocols Document all external correspondence and telephone conversations in accordance with GC procedures, including where appropriate, and GC Professional Standards guidelines minimizing the potential for errors and omissions Foster new relationships with reinsurers, clients, colleagues and Marsh (sister business to GC) Develop knowledge of reinsurer capabilities (product lines, capacity, approvals, etc.), with the help of the Market Information Department, Legal Department and other departments as necessary Update management on issues, progress, etc. for account assignments regularly and upon request What you need to have: Very strong computational skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining client, reinsurer and internal relationships Verbal and writing skills for complex communications (presentations, negotiations, etc.) with clients, reinsurers and GC colleagues at various levels of seniority Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency and resource requirements Ability to find creative solutions to new problems as they arise Ability to maintain compliance with Professional Standards, where applicable, as well as company-wide quality initiatives Why join our team: We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
