Role Description This full-time remote US Tax Preparer role is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns in compliance with current US tax laws and regulations. Day-to-day work includes gathering and analyzing client financial information, reviewing source documents, and ensuring returns are accurate, complete, and filed on time. The role involves communicating with clients to clarify tax-related questions, identify potential deductions and credits, and provide general tax guidance. The US Tax Preparer will collaborate with other team members, maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes, and help improve internal processes and documentation standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Preparation and Tax, with the ability to interpret and apply current regulations. Candidates should possess skills in Tax Law, including researching and understanding complex tax rules and compliance requirements. Candidates should possess skills in Finance and Financial Statements, including reviewing and reconciling financial data used in tax returns. Relevant experience preparing US individual and small business tax returns (e.g., Form 1040, 1120, 1065) is highly beneficial. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in tax preparation software and common office applications; comfort working in a remote, technology-enabled environment. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach and the ability to explain tax concepts in accessible language. Formal education in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications (e.g., EA, CPA) are an asset.
