We have the product, methodology and the technology. The Impact You’ll Bring As our Engineering Team Lead at Maxa, you will drive developer success and be the architect of our engineering culture. Your mission is to empower a team of developers through rigorous execution, proactive coaching, and clear direction. You aren’t just managing tasks; you’ll dive into the action of backend logic and data pipelines when the team needs an extra set of hands. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys ambiguity, builds fast and efficiently, and has the experience to shape AI agentic workflows to elevate the team’s production delivery. Here’s what a day can look like Enforce high standards for code reviews, PR hygiene, and documentation in collaboration with the Architecture team. Drive engineering excellence, productivity and speed, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to build long-term technical and organizational health Lead, mentor and build a high-performing team of software developers through career development planning and coaching. Drive strong production ownership practices, including observability and incident responses, with a mindset Here’s what will qualify you for the role: Soft skills 10+ years of professional software development experience, with an emphasis on enterprise data analytics. 5+ years of people management experience as a team lead or manager, managing the growth and career development of software developers. Experience running agile delivery processes, with a strong sense for sprint planning, capacity management and backlog prioritization. Comfort operating within a 0-1 environment where speed and ambiguity coexist. Demonstrate a deep curiosity about emerging technologies and AI, actively leveraging them to elevate product experiences, sharpen decision-making and production delivery, and build the team knowledge. Lead by example with a “player-coach” mentality and remain close to the action to guide critical technical decisions, code review PRs, unblock developers on component architecture and make sound technical calls. Hard skills React and TypeScript: our entire frontend is React 19 with TypeScript Python: the AI platform side is based on Python 3.13. You don't need to be a daily Python writer, but enough fluency to review agent code, understand async patterns, and mentor developers on it will be appreciated. Cloud infrastructure: you are able to reason about deployment, scaling and service architecture. Here’s what will make you stand out: AI/LLM tooling (ADK, LangChain, or similar agent frameworks): prior exposure to these technologies mean faster context, better architecture instincts and more credible mentorship on the AI side. Familiarity with dbt / data engineering to contribute to design discussions. Knowledge of Temporal or equivalent workflow orchestration.
