Hiring Unit: Department of Biology (Professor Abigail Gerhold) Position Summary: Prepares media and C. elegans culture plates to meet weekly lab needs. Prepares solutions and reagents. Cleans and sterilizes glassware. Communicates with lab members about media and reagent needs. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Excellent attention to detail and time management. Good interpersonal skills; maintain strong lines of communication with supervisor and lab members. Must be approved by the McGill Work Study program . Education/Experience: Experience with media preparation within a laboratory environment. Experience with basic sterile techniques. Progress towards a BSc in Biology or closely related field. Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec. Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) qualifier on a scale of 0-4. Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience Hourly Salary: (AMUSE B) $16.85 Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week: 10 (Part time) Position Start Date: 2026-08-20 Position End Date: 2026-12-31 Deadline to Apply: 2026-09-25 This position is covered by the AMUSE collective agreement. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, with preference given to those pursuing a BSc in Biology. Applicants must also be approved by the McGill Work Study program and possess experience with media preparation and sterile techniques.
