WE ARE SEEKING A SPOTTER ! THE OPPORTUNITY: McKay Métis Contracting, an entity of McKay Métis Group, is seeking a temporary Turnaround Spotter with a potential to be permanent. THE ROLE: Reporting to the Team Lead/designate, the Turnaround Spotter is responsible for the following: ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Maintain communication with workers and operators using radios, hand signals, instructions * Stop unsafe work immediately and escalate hazards to the Supervisor/designate * Ensure all turnaround activities comply with site safety rules, permits and company policies * Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks * Monitor and guide mobile equipment to prevent incidents * Control pedestrian and vehicle traffic around congested work areas * All other duties as required REQUIREMENTS: * HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT * PREVIOUS INDUSTRIAL, PLANT OR TURNAROUND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. * KNOWLEDGE OF SITE SAFETY PRACTICES * STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS (VERBAL, HAND SIGNALS, RADIO USE) * ABILITY TO REMAIN ALERT AND FOCUSED AT ALL TIMES * SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ALL PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTING * CLASS 5 DRIVER’S LICENSE SCHEDULE: 5 DAYS, 5 NIGHTS FOLLOWED BY 5 DAYS OFF, WORKING 12 HOURS A DAY. SALARY: COMPETITIVE HOURLY WAGE. This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
