Job summary

Purpose McLarens Aviation is seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Surveyor to join our Montreal office. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior aviation professional with a background in aircraft maintenance, engineering, technical services, flight operations, MRO, OEM support, aviation claims or accident investigation. The successful candidate will manage complex aviation hull and liability claims, providing technical expertise and exceptional service to insurers, brokers, aircraft operators and legal representatives across Canada and internationally. Working as part of McLarens' global aviation practice, you will handle a diverse range of assignments, from aircraft damage assessments and repair oversight through to major loss investigations, recovery operations and liaison with manufacturers, regulators and accident investigation authorities. This role offers a unique opportunity not only to join one of the world's leading aviation loss adjusting practices, but also to develop into a future leadership position. Key Accountabilities Manage complex aviation hull and liability claims from instruction to resolution. Conduct aircraft damage assessments, technical investigations and loss surveys. Evaluate repair methodologies, costs and aircraft valuations. Prepare clear and concise technical reports for clients and stakeholders. Build strong relationships with insurers, brokers, operators and aviation industry partners. Support business development and client retention activities. Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the Aviation practice. Travel domestically and internationally as required. Experience and Qualifications Essential Degree-qualified Engineer, Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or equivalent aviation qualification. Significant aviation industry experience within airlines, business aviation, general aviation, MRO, OEMs, technical services or related sectors. Strong technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance, repair and operations. Excellent analytical, communication and report-writing skills. Strong client relationship and project management capabilities. Fluency in English. Willingness to travel. Desirable Pilot Licence (Fixed Wing or Rotary). Aviation claims adjusting or accident investigation experience. Fluency in French will be highly desirable Additional language skills. Existing aviation industry network.
