Job summary
Description: MDG Productions is expanding its construction documentation and digital capture capabilities in the Ottawa area and is seeking an experienced Reality Capture / Digital Construction Specialist for upcoming project-based and recurring assignments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting active commercial, institutional, industrial or other large-scale construction projects using digital construction, BIM/VDC and reality capture technologies. This role will support the integration of field-captured visual documentation with digital construction environments, helping maintain accurate, organized and location-based project records throughout various stages of construction. Responsibilities may include: Supporting 360-degree reality capture and digital construction documentation workflows Organizing and aligning field documentation with project drawings, floor plans and BIM environments Supporting location- and time-based indexing of construction imagery Working with BIM/VDC models and construction collaboration platforms Supporting construction progress tracking and documentation Assisting with platform setup, administration, QA/QC and data organization Coordinating with field documentation personnel and project management Supporting reporting, exports and long-term organization of project documentation Following established construction-site safety and documentation protocols Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience supporting large-scale commercial, institutional, industrial or infrastructure construction Experience with reality capture and digital construction workflows Experience with OpenSpace, DroneDeploy or similar reality capture platforms Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, Revit and/or Navisworks Familiarity with Procore or comparable construction management platforms Experience with 360-degree imagery, laser scanning, point clouds or other reality capture technologies Understanding of construction drawings and floor plans Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent documentation standards Comfortable working periodically in active construction environments Ottawa-area availability This is a contract opportunity with potential for recurring and longer-term assignments. Please include relevant project experience, software/platform proficiency, certifications and examples of digital construction, BIM/VDC or reality capture work.
