Job Posting: Intervention Coordinator Position Title: Intervention Coordinator Closing date: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 Position Overview Medicine Hat Public School Division (MHPSD) is seeking a highly collaborative, relational and knowledgeable teacher to serve as Intervention Coordinator. This position requires an educational leader dedicated to evidence-based instruction and data-driven intervention, working collaboratively with school teams to support students identified as requiring additional supports. In this role, you will work closely with Learning and Student Support Services, as well as schools. This position will support school staff to design, implement, and monitor targeted interventions for student success. You will play a pivotal role in analyzing student data, building collective capacity, and deepening knowledge through professional learning. The position responsibilities are intended to align with system and provincial priorities to ensure students receive research-driven, purposeful, and early intervention supports. Key ResponsibilitiesKnowledge & Skills Data Analysis, Program Planning & Screens Support planning and facilitation of MHPSD and provincial screens. Data-Driven Intervention: Assist schools in analyzing student performance data to identify learning gaps and design targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy. Continuum of Supports: Guide school teams in designing multi-tiered systems of support instruction through the continuum of supports, emphasizing small group instruction and tier-two/three instructional strategies and supports while recognizing the importance of high yield tier one instruction. Complexity: Support the division and school teams in deepening their knowledge of research and evidence based practices to inform programming, intervention and transitions. System, Provincial Priorities & Reporting Requirements Purposeful and responsive literacy and numeracy intervention Grant & Funding Tracking: Maintain and support schools teams to maintain precise documentation and data tracking to meet provincial reporting requirements. Other reporting and data analysis as identified. Professional Learning Instructional Coaching: Provide targeted guidance and job-embedded professional learning for teachers and administrators on research and evidence-based practices. Lead professional development focused on student complexity, small group instruction, diagnostic assessment, differentiation and intervention. Evidence-Based Pedagogy: Deep understanding of research-backed and evidence based literacy/numeracy interventions, high-leverage teaching strategies, and universal design for learning (UDL). Data Literacy: Strong ability to interpret assessment data (formative, diagnostic, and summative) to inform instructional decision-making. Familiarity with provincial reporting frameworks, specifically literacy and numeracy intervention guidelines and grant reporting structures. Coaching: Ability to coach, guide, collaborate and support colleagues and school teams. Adaptability: Exceptional organizational and relational skills to navigate complex, multi-site educational settings. Application Details Questions?
