Job details
Medisca is a global company leveraging strong partnerships to serve healthcare professionals across diverse wellness disciplines. Offering extensive and essential solutions - including pharmaceutical ingredients and service, mixing technology manufacturing, analytical testing, and education – Medisca is bridging the gaps in healthcare with an unwavering commitment to precision, innovation, and societal impact. The Database Administrator will own the health, accuracy, and performance of databases across a multi-system, multi-location business. The Database Administrator will map how data flows between our CRM, ERP, e-commerce, and other platforms, keeping them accurate and compliant every step of the way, and act as a trusted steward of the company's data. Salary: $79,350.00 About you: You're obsessed with data accuracy and data health — “close enough” isn't good enough. You're a big-picture thinker who wants to help shape where our data infrastructure goes next, a collaborative team player who connects easily with both technical and business teams, and someone who understands the business, not just the systems behind it. Responsibilities & Duties: * Maintain the performance, accuracy, and availability of our SQL Server databases. * Design data architecture and data mapping for system changes, migrations, and integrations (for CRM, ERP, etc.) * Build deep knowledge of our data — where it lives, how it's structured, and how it moves across systems and formats (CSV, JSON, XML, EDI, APIs, etc.). * Support accurate data sharing between our platforms, tools, and business partners, using various transfer methods. * Act as a data steward: define, document, and uphold data quality and ownership standards. * Ensure data handling meets privacy and compliance requirements. * Write and optimize complex T-SQL (stored procedures, functions, indexing, query plans). * Maintain high-availability and disaster recovery strategies, including backups and failovers. * Build and monitor data quality checks and pipeline orchestration across systems. * Set up monitoring/alerting for database and pipeline performance. * Support CDP and identity resolution initiatives. * Maintain database security controls (access, encryption, auditing) and basic automation scripting). * Document configurations, data flows, mappings, and procedures. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in a related field. * 5+ years in a DBA or data architecture/engineering role. * Strong SQL Server experience and advanced T-SQL/query optimization skills. * Experience with data mapping across system migrations or integrations. * Experience with CRM, ERP, and e-commerce data. * Understanding of data stewardship, governance, and privacy/compliance basics. * Experience with HA/DR and database security fundamentals. * Strong communicator, able to bridge technical and business audiences. Assets: * Experience with PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Snowflake, or Databricks. * Pipeline orchestration tools (SSIS, ADF, Airflow, dbt, or similar). * Awareness of cross-border privacy rules (e.g., GDPR, Quebec's Law 25). * Exposure to CI/CD for database changes (Flyway, Liquibase, Azure DevOps). What’s in it for you… We invest time and resources into making sure Medisca is as good as the people we hire. * Work/Life Balance - 37.50 hour workweek with early Fridays all year long, PTO and vacation policy * Invest in your health – Choice of modular plans, health spending account and free Telemedicine * Flexible work environment – Hybrid work schedule with home office reimbursement program * Your Future is Bright – Opportunities to learn and grow within Medisca * Save for your Future – Medisca contributes to a deferred profit sharing plan (DPSP) when you invest in RRSPs * Help us grow – Employee Referral Program * We like to have fun – company events throughout the year Reason for vacancy: New Role We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only candidates to be interviewed will be contacted. We are an equal opportunity employer. #LI-Remote
