Our member, Countryman Electric Ltd. is looking to hire an Electrical Apprentice & Generator Technician, for their company servicing Chesterville, ON. This unique position offers the opportunity to build your electrical career while becoming a specialist in generator service, maintenance, and installation. Generator Service & Maintenance Perform annual preventative maintenance on generators Change oil, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and other service components Complete operational testing and inspections Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues Repair generators and replace faulty components Complete service reports and maintenance records Assist with generator installations and transfer switch installations Electrical Work Assist with residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial electrical projects Install conduit, cable, panels, lighting, and electrical equipment Assist with service upgrades and renovations Read and interpret drawings and specifications Follow Ontario Electrical Safety Code requirements Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment Qualifications Registered 309A Electrical Apprentice (or willing to become registered) Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills Experience working with engines, generators, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or small engines is an asset Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record Comfortable working outdoors and lifting up to 50 lbs COMPENSATION Salary: $18-$30/hr (based on year of apprenticeship and level of experience) Full-time position Comprehensive benefit plan Vacation: 3 weeks Disclaimer: Although Merit Ontario employs artificial intelligence enabled tools to conduct initial application screening based on job-related criteria, decisions about who progresses in the hiring process are always made by people.
