POSITION TITLE: Hardy Settlement Worker DEPARTMENT: Health, Mental Health & Addictions CLASSIFICATION: MGO-05 SALARY RANGE: Starting at $58,366.00 per Annum POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term (Until March 31, 2030) LOCATION: Saskatoon ACCOUNTABLE TO: Health Promotion Manager Overview Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) is seeking a compassionate, community-focused, and culturally grounded Hardy Settlement Worker to support the implementation of the Hardy Settlement Project. On June 24, 2025, the Federal Court of Canada approved the Federal Indian Hospitals (Hardy) Settlement Agreement. Through federal funding, MN–S is leading initiatives to expand access to trauma-informed, culturally safe, and Métis-specific emotional and cultural supports for Class Members of the Hardy Settlement and Métis citizens across Saskatchewan. The Hardy Settlement Worker plays a vital role in supporting survivors, families, and communities by facilitating access to services, resources, and cultural support. This position will assist individuals in navigating health and social service systems while contributing to broader efforts to advance cultural safety within Saskatchewan’s healthcare system through the development and implementation of a Cultural Safety Framework. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about community wellness, reconciliation, and supporting Métis citizens through relationship-based, trauma-informed approaches. Key Responsibilities Community Outreach & Client Support * Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, and person-centered support to citizens, survivors, family members, and community members. * Assist individuals in navigating available programs, services, referrals, and settlement-related resources. * Connect citizens with cultural, emotional, mental health, wellness, and community-based supports. * Support individuals in understanding available options and accessing appropriate services and resources. Relationship Building & Community Engagement * Build and maintain positive relationships with Métis citizens, communities, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, service providers, and partner organizations. * Participate in community outreach activities, information sessions, engagement events, and gatherings. * Promote awareness of available supports and services among Métis citizens and communities. Program Administration & Coordination * Assist with intake processes, service coordination, documentation, and follow-up activities. * Maintain accurate and confidential records, files, and tracking systems. * Support project reporting, communications, data collection, and administrative functions. * Contribute to project activities that strengthen culturally safe approaches within health and social service systems. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Post-secondary education in Social Work, Psychology, Indigenous Studies, Community Development, Health Studies, Human Services, or a related field. * An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. * Experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations, governments, or within health and social service systems is considered an asset. * Experience in providing direct client support, community outreach, or system navigation services is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Strong understanding of Métis culture, history, values, and community priorities. * Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and culturally safe practices. * Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with individuals, families, and communities. * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. * Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. * Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Additional Requirements * Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation. * Willingness and ability to travel throughout Saskatchewan as required. * Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. * Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events and engagement activities. * Please submit your application by 9:59 PM on September 28, 2026.
