ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer incoming phone calls, provide information, and assist clients with medical transportation inquiries and troubleshooting. Assess client accessibility and support needs, including age-related, disability-related, language, or other barriers affecting travel arrangements. Coordinate and book local and out-of-town medical transportation, including flights, buses, taxis, accommodations, and other approved travel services. Process and assist with travel mileage and meal claims in accordance with NIHB guidelines. Verify client status numbers and eligibility requirements. Review travel expense claims, receipts, and confirmation slips for completeness and accuracy. Maintain accurate and confidential records of appointments, approvals, travel arrangements, receipts, financial transactions, and related documentation. Schedule, assign, and communicate transportation work orders to Drivers. Report accidents, incidents, and transportation issues and complete required documentation. Report incidents of racism or discrimination to the Medical Transportation Manager. Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies, including the Oath of Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, and Code of Conduct. Perform general reception, administrative, and other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certification in Office Administration or a related field is considered an asset. Experience coordinating transportation, scheduling appointments, data entry, or related administrative duties is an asset. Experience providing exceptional customer service in a professional environment. Experience working with computerized scheduling and record management systems is an asset. Other Requirements Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program or willingness to learn. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Financial literacy and the ability to track invoices, receipts, and program expenditures. Knowledge of Mikisew Cree First Nation community, culture, and service needs is an asset. Ability to speak and understand the local Cree language is considered an asset. Must provide satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Intervention Record Check. Must possess a valid provincial driver's licence and have reliable transportation. Must sign the Oath of Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest Declaration, and Code of Conduct. WORKING CONDITIONS: Extended periods of sitting and computer use. Frequent interaction with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, or medical concerns. Busy office environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Manual dexterity required to operate computers and office equipment. Exposure to sensitive and confidential information. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends when required. May be required to manage difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner. Regular interaction with community members, Elders, healthcare providers, transportation vendors, and staff. MCFN Standard Closing Statement In accordance with MCFN hiring practices, this position will be posted internally for a minimum of fourteen (14) days to provide qualified MCFN Members and internal candidates with the opportunity to apply.
