Mining Plus continues to grow across North America, and we’re looking for a Principal Mining Consultant – Underground Mining to join our Canadian team. This is an opportunity for an accomplished mining professional to combine technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships, mentoring, and business development while working on diverse and challenging mining projects across Canada and internationally. The Opportunity As a Principal Mining Consultant – Underground Mining, you will provide senior technical leadership and premium consulting services to Mining Plus clients across a variety of commodities and projects. You will apply your extensive underground mining experience to Scoping Studies, Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), Feasibility Studies (FS), NI 43-101 Technical Reports, mine planning and optimization, technical due diligence, mine economics, project management, and operational improvement. Beyond technical delivery, you’ll play an important role in developing our people, strengthening client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting the continued growth of Mining Plus in North America. What You’ll Do Lead and contribute to Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, and Feasibility Studies Lead underground mine planning, mine design, scheduling, and optimization projects Conduct mine asset technical due diligence, evaluations, and operational reviews Develop and review mine economic models and technical assessments Prepare and review NI 43-101 Technical Reports and equivalent international technical reports Act as a Qualified Person (QP) where applicable Provide senior technical guidance and practical mining solutions to clients and project teams Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget Maintain oversight of technical quality, project scope, schedule, and deliverables Apply global mining best practices while developing practical, fit-for-purpose solutions Provide peer review and technical assurance on complex mining projects Mentor and develop mining professionals to support their technical and career development Manage contractors and sub-consultants as required Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients Identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients and actively contribute to business development Support proposals, scopes of work, and client presentations Contribute to the continued growth and development of Mining Plus in North America What You Bring 15+ years of mining and technical experience A minimum of 5 years of operational underground mining experience A recognized degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, or a related discipline Professional P.Eng. designation or equivalent Experience acting as a Qualified Person (QP) under NI 43-101 Strong underground mine planning, mine design, scheduling, and optimization experience Competency with mine planning software, with Deswik and/or Datamine experience preferred Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and multidisciplinary mining projects Strong technical and project management capabilities Experience preparing proposals, technical reports, scopes of work, and project correspondence Strong client relationship management and consulting skills An interest in and ability to lead and support business development activities A practical approach to solving complex mining challenges A commitment to technical excellence and strong workplace safety practices Exceptional communication, report writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills Strong planning, organization, and time management skills The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams What We Offer Mining Plus offers a flexible and collaborative environment where experienced professionals have the opportunity to influence projects, develop people, and contribute to the direction and growth of the business. Candidates must have 15+ years of mining experience, including at least 5 years in underground operations and a professional P.Eng. designation. Proficiency in mine planning software like Deswik or Datamine and experience acting as a Qualified Person (QP) under NI 43-101 are required.
