The Opportunity As a Senior Mining Consultant – Underground Mining, you will provide technical expertise and leadership across underground mining projects in Canada and internationally. Your work may include Scoping Studies, Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), Feasibility Studies (FS), NI 43-101 Technical Reports, mine design and scheduling, Mineral Reserve estimation, operational reviews, technical due diligence, project management, and business improvement initiatives. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor team members, provide technical guidance, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of Mining Plus. What You’ll Do Develop and review underground mine designs, schedules, and life-of-mine plans Complete Mineral Reserve estimates and support technical reporting Contribute to NI 43-101 Technical Reports, including QP responsibilities where applicable Deliver Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, and Feasibility Studies Conduct technical due diligence, operational reviews, and peer reviews Develop project cost models, mine economics, and financial assessments Support mining contractor engagement, evaluation, and assessment Lead and manage consulting projects from planning through delivery Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mining professionals Support implementation of mining software, systems, and operational best practices Identify opportunities for operational and business improvement Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients Contribute to business development and the growth of Mining Plus What You Bring A recognized degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, or a related discipline 8+ years of underground mining experience, ideally combining operational and technical or consulting experience Professional P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration in Canada preferred Strong experience in underground mine planning, mine design, and mine scheduling Experience with Deswik and/or Datamine preferred Experience with production and mine engineering disciplines such as short-range planning, drill and blast, ventilation, materials handling, and/or water management Experience contributing to mining studies and technical reports prepared to NI 43-101 or comparable international reporting standards Knowledge of mine economics, cost estimation, and financial modelling Strong project management and technical leadership capabilities Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of project delivery Strong communication and client relationship management skills A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor and support other team members What We Offer Flexible work arrangements Comprehensive healthcare plan RRSP matching Generous vacation policy Sick leave Employee Assistance Program Exposure to diverse commodities, operations, and technical challenges Opportunities to work with colleagues and clients across our global business Career development opportunities across technical, project management, and leadership pathways Write Your Next Chapter With Us At Mining Plus, great consulting starts with great people.
