GIS Technician (Internship / Co-op) Sebastian Farms Locations: Oliver/Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada Spend your time supporting a multi vineyard mapping initiative by combining field based GNSS data collection with GIS processing to produce accurate, well documented geospatial products for internal operational use. The GIS Technician will conduct structured field surveys to capture vineyard block boundaries and infrastructure across our estate vineyards in the Okanagan, Kootenay, and Similkameen Valleys. Responsibilities include collecting raw data, ground truthing existing datasets, validating spatial information, and recording consistent metadata and field notes. Sebastian Farms is a family owned, vineyard operation growing premium organic grapes for a collection of our wineries throughout the Okanagan Valley. Our operation spans across valley with vineyards located in Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Naramata, Oliver, Osoyoos, and the Similkameen Valley. Our viticulture program is dedicated to growing premium quality grapes, infusing sustainability into every aspect of our vineyards, and investing in the Canadian wine region. A Day in the Life of Our Summer GIS Tech Collect vineyard block boundaries and infrastructure features using GNSS field equipment. Conduct ground-truthing to verify and improve existing spatial datasets. Perform flag staking on properties Maintain accurate field notes and metadata during all surveys. Support vineyard planting initiatives Validate, clean, and QA/QC spatial datasets. Reproject and standardize spatial data according to organizational GIS standards. Maintain structured data organization, metadata, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Support map production, reporting, and internal communication. Participate in onboarding, training, and ongoing collaboration with GIS, viticulture, and vineyard development teams. What You Bring Must be comfortable working outdoors, working alone, and under various weather conditions. Having or working towards a degree, diploma, or certificate in a certified GIS, geodesy, geomatics, geography, environmental science, or related academic program. Proficiency with the ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Maps). Understanding of spatial analysis concepts, coordinate systems, projections, geodesy, and GNSS fundamentals. Requirements

Candidates must be pursuing or hold a degree or certificate in GIS, geomatics, geography, or a related field and be proficient in the ArcGIS Suite. A valid driver's license and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions are required.
