Job summary

Job Summary This position is responsible for managing and improving the coatings process and conducting research and tests to develop new coatings. Required Education And Experience University degree in Chemical Engineering and/or 3 - 5 years of experience working in the e-coat/paint facilities Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) knowledge Knowledge in CAD: 3D Models, Drawings and GD&Ts an asset Knowledge of e-coat and powder coat process is an asset Essential Functions Consistently develop, assess and implement continuous improvement projects in relation to current or future project planning. Design, develop, and test new coatings systems and chemical titrations Conduct research into the development or improvement of coatings process Oversee all testing in relation to the e-coat and powder coat line Supervise e-coat lab technicians Establish and conduct quality control programs, operating procedures and control strategies to ensure consistency and adherence to standards for raw materials, products and waste products or emissions Assist in paint line qualification Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28) Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook Must work in accordance with H&S regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities required for this job. Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less Artificial intelligence may be used during the recruitment process to screen, assess, or select applicants Salary: $85000 - $90000 per year
