Load Builder with Delivery Support Reports To: Yard Supervisor Position Summary Wage: 19.00 - 20.50 The Load Builder supports yard operations, customer service, and delivery functions. This role is responsible for preparing and building customer and contractor orders, operating forklifts and yard equipment, and assisting with deliveries — including carrying drywall and other heavy building materials to customer sites. This position works both independently and as part of a team to ensure loads are accurate, secure, and safely transported while maintaining a clean and safe yard environment. Qualifications and Skills Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials, including drywall Ability to work safely at heights and use ladders Safety-focused with hazard recognition skills Strong planning, organization, and time management abilities Problem-solving and sound decision-making skills Dependable, accountable, and team-oriented Commitment to company policies and safety procedures Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Order Preparation Provide professional service to contractors and retail customers Assist customers with product location and recommendations Prepare and verify specialized orders according to shipping paperwork Load Building & Inventory Build, stage, and secure loads to prevent damage during transport Arrange materials according to routing and delivery sequence Restock returned materials and report damaged products Maintain accurate documentation and support inventory control Delivery Assistance Accompany drivers to assist with drywall carrying and site deliveries Assess delivery sites for hazards and ensure safe handling practices Set up ladders safely and assist with unloading and site setup Equipment & Yard Safety Operate forklifts and yard equipment safely Load and unload delivery and customer vehicles Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance concerns Maintain yard cleanliness and organization Operate saw equipment (upon certification) Follow all health and safety regulations and mitigate hazards General Duties Review daily assignments with supervisor Comply with company policies and safety standards Support team members as needed Perform other duties as assigned We would like to thank all those who apply; however, we will only be contacting those candidates that we believe will be a successful fit in our organization.
