Accountant – Manufacturing Mississauga | Full-Time Onsite | $95–115K + Benefits The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a global manufacturing organization and take the next step in their career, with a defined progression into an Assistant Controller position. Based in Mississauga, this is a hands-on role within a project-based manufacturing environment, where you’ll take ownership of core accounting and job costing activities while gaining broad exposure across the business. You’ll play an important role in managing project financials, WIP, job costing, profitability, and month-end, working closely with key stakeholders across the organization. What You'll Be Doing As Accountant, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial and cost accounting activities for a project-based manufacturing operation, including: Leading the month-end close process, including journal entries, general ledger activities, accruals, and account analysis Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances, and resolving discrepancies Managing project and job costing within the ERP system, with a strong focus on WIP (Work in Progress), project costs, cost allocations, and job profitability Monitoring project financial performance, including costs, revenue, budgets, margins, and variances Preparing weekly reporting packages covering revenue, sales, order book, cash flow, and bank reconciliations Supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and other business analysis initiatives Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand project performance and provide financial insight Supporting year-end audits and responding to reporting and information requests from Head Office What We're Looking For CPA designated or currently pursuing a CPA 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong experience with cost accounting, ideally within a job costing or project costing environment Experience in manufacturing, construction, consumer goods, or a similar project-based environment Strong Excel skills with the ability to work with and analyze large datasets Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand the financial performance of individual projects A proactive, hands-on approach with the desire to grow into a more senior accounting position Why Join? $95,000 – $115,000 base salary Healthcare benefits RRSP matching 3 weeks vacation Clear progression into an Assistant Controller role Opportunity to gain broad exposure across accounting, costing, and project financials Join a global organization with a strong and established presence in the market Interested in taking the next step in your accounting career?
