Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will play a key support role in daily shop operations by preparing materials, assisting welders and fabricators, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Responsibilities/Tasks Clean, prep, and organize steel parts prior to fabrication or welding Kit parts and materials according to drawings, work orders, or supervisor instructions Assist welders and fabricators by staging, moving, and preparing materials and components Grind, deburr, clean, and inspect parts as required Load, unload, and move materials safely within the shop using appropriate equipment Perform general shop housekeeping, including sweeping, waste removal, and maintaining organized work areas Operate basic hand tools such as grinders, drills, and measuring tools as trained Assist with basic shop equipment operation as required and trained (saws, drill press, ironworker, etc.) Safely operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment as trained Follow all safety procedures and participate in pre-use inspections Support production teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of work This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties.
