Job Title Bartender, Events, Theatre and Hospitality Services Job Type Flexible Union MRSA Salary Grade Flexible / Casual Classification (Salary Grade) SAD01 Administrative Services (Salary Grade 12) Hybrid Work This position is ineligible Position End Date 12/1/2026 Location MRU Main Campus - Calgary, AB T3E 6K6 CA (Primary) About This Position About the Role Working within the Events, Theatre and Event Services area, this is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. Bartenders are part of the Bar & Concession team. Bartenders report to the Head Bartender and Bar & Event Supervisor, who all work together to operate Bar & Concession services at the Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts as well as other venues on the MRU campus. Bartenders must be able to work on a team and independently when necessary. Bartenders will serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as confections to patrons at public events as well as private events. Bartenders collect payments via Clover pin-pad terminals. Responsibilities Assist Head Bartender with pre-service stocking, inventory and cleaning to ensure the safe delivery of a variety of alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages and confections. Assist Head Bartender with collecting payments and transactions at the end of each shift. Assist with completing post service “cash out” documentation and reconciling sales for the bar manager’s approval the following day. Performing post-service cleaning and “close up” checklists to make sure that the bar is ready for pre-service prep at the next event. Qualifications The ability to work flexible hours on a varied schedule - which may include day or evening shifts during the week or on the weekend. The capacity to work independently and in a team environment efficiently. Experience working in hospitality or customer service is desirable. Must be 18 years of age or older. Proserve certification required. If you do not already have your ProServe certificate, you will be required to complete your ProServe training within 30 days of being hired. Requirements

Must be 18 years or older with Proserve certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days. Experience in hospitality or customer service is desirable, along with the ability to work a flexible schedule.
