Job summary

Reports to: Outdoor Education Director Employment Type: Contract - On Call Position Overview The Squamish Outdoor Leadership and Education Centre (SOLE Centre), based at Easter Seals, is a 20-acre property filled with enriched experiential learning opportunities. Visitors of all ages will access the site for single-day, overnight, and multi-day experiential learning opportunities. Squamish and the surrounding wilderness also provide easy access to world-class outdoor rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and paddling. The health and wellbeing benefits of experiential outdoor education are well-researched and a core element in Mulgrave's strategic plan, paired with an emphasis on social emotional learning. Additionally, the possibilities for experiential learning in the sciences, the arts, languages, math, and the humanities are endless. The SOLE Centre features: two buildings that can sleep up to 132 a dining hall a large sheltered outdoor fire pit and BBQ area a climbing wall accessible treehouse low ropes course and giant swing indoor swimming pool several classroom spaces amphitheatres basketball courts acres of forest Preferred Certifications/Qualifications/Experience Any combination of the following: NLS Standard First Aid w/CPR-C Advanced Wilderness First Aid ACCT Ropes/High Ropes Training Class 4 Driver's License Leave No Trace instructor PC Level 1 Sea Kayak Instructor or SKGABC Assistant Overnight Guide Flatwater Canoe Instructor Moving Water Canoe certification Ski/Snowboarding Instructor Food Safe Ecology Environmental Science Passion for Outdoor Pursuits Undercover Ninja How to apply: Applications are to be submitted through Mulgrave Careers by July 31, 2026

What you’ll do

Requirements

Candidates should possess a passion for outdoor pursuits and a variety of certifications such as First Aid, ACCT Ropes training, or instructor certifications in kayaking, canoeing, or skiing. A Class 4 Driver's License and Food Safe certification are also preferred.
