Kingsclear-Municipal Limited Partnership(KMLP), a member of the Municipal Group of Companies is seeking qualified Crane Operators to support construction of renewable energy projects in the Juniper (Fredericton) Area. KMLP through membership in the Municipal Group, is firmly embedded in the construction industry of Eastern Canada and as an organization we have been operating in the region for well over 50 years. As part of New Brunswick’s transition to renewable energy, KMLP has been awarded a variety of projects in the region to support large scale wind farm development. Our work typically includes a variety of civil construction tasks including road building, water crossings, cast-in-place concrete, pre-cast concrete installation, and various other earthworks. Job Summary The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of conventional crawler cranes to perform heavy lifts to support construction activities as well as performing pile driving operations. The Crane Operator is also responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and daily maintenance. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Complete daily pre and post use inspection of crane and rigging equipment Provide safe and effective crane mobilization, operation, and de-mobilization Complete daily crane maintenance (grease, lube, clean) and daily fluid top ups Observe proper load hook-up and determine load safety; Immediately advise of any requirements for maintenance or repairs; Ensure compliance with crane policies & procedures Actively participate in Toolbox Talks, safety meetings and other safety observation programs Protect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities; Ensure safety of fellow employees; Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, And Experience Must hold a valid Nova Scotia/New Brunswick Class 1 Crane Operator license; 3-5 years experience as a Crane Operator, or equivalent experience; Must have rigging knowledge to ensure all picks are secure and balanced; Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct; Ability to complete tasks such as driving piling and setting beams; Willingness to work in a team environment; Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner; Comply with all safety policies and procedures; Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly; Working safely is a condition of employment. Working Conditions The Crane Operator has a responsible position working in heavy civil/commercial settings such as bridge work, marine projects and building foundations etc. This position will require the use of PPE, Hardhat, Steel Toe Boots, and reflective vest to minimize risk on the worksite. The worksite environment for this position is outside in varying weather conditions.
