What We’re Looking For Construction experience – hands-on site knowledge is valuable Eagerness to learn – we’ll provide full training and mentorship Strong work ethic and positive attitude – safety is about people, culture, and commitment Willingness to travel – you’ll work across various sites throughout Nova Scotia Strong communication skills – able to listen, observe, and work with others Job Summary A Health and Safety Advisor partners with operations teams to provide guidance, support, and practical solutions that reinforce a positive safety culture and drive safe work practices. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Coach and mentor employees and supervisors on safety programs, policies, and procedures Conduct regular site visits and inspections to encourage best practices Investigate incidents and near-misses and help develop corrective and preventive measures Promote open dialogue around safety issues and encourage a culture of accountability and care Participate in audits (COR) and contribute to the maintenance of safety certifications Assist with compiling safety metrics and reporting for leadership All other duties as required Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, And Experience Construction experience and training preferred Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently Competent with Microsoft Office and safety management software (e.g. eCompliance) Valid Class 5 Drivers License Must be willing and able to travel within Nova Scotia A comprehensive pension and benefits package are offered with this position along with opportunities for advancement and training and development.
