Location: Ontario, Canada Workplace Type: Hybrid Position Type: Volunteer Part Time Commitment: Approximately 3 to 5 hours per week ABOUT MYMEALAID MyMealAid is an early stage preventive nutrition technology company building culturally inclusive support for everyday food decisions. We are beginning with South Asian adults in Canada who have provider identified prediabetes or an elevated risk of type 2 diabetes. Our platform is being designed to provide culturally relevant meal planning, recipes, grocery guidance and nutrition education between healthcare appointments. MyMealAid is currently pre-revenue and preparing for product development and beta testing. Our work has been featured in Dietitians of Canada’s national e-newsletter. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a Registered Dietitian to join our interdisciplinary team as an early stage collaborator. This opportunity is suited to a new or experienced dietitian who is passionate about preventive nutrition, cultural inclusion and digital health. The successful candidate will help us develop safe and evidence-informed nutrition content while gaining experience with an early stage health technology startup. RESPONSIBILITIES • Review selected recipes and nutrition education articles (has the opportunity to be featured on our platform) • Provide feedback on nutritional accuracy, safety and clarity • Help develop content standards and dietitian review processes • Advise on culturally relevant approaches to diabetes prevention • Review disclaimers and professional boundaries within the platform • Contribute feedback during product development and beta preparation • Support future workshops, interviews and educational videos based on interest and availability (be comfortable on camera) QUALIFICATIONS • Registered Dietitian in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulatory college • Strong understanding of evidence-informed nutrition practice • Excellent written communication and attention to detail • Interest in preventive nutrition, digital health and culturally inclusive care • Comfortable collaborating within an early stage remote team ASSETS • Experience or education related to prediabetes or type 2 diabetes • Knowledge of South Asian foods and cultural practices • Experience reviewing recipes or developing nutrition education resources • Experience with community education, workshops or digital content • Certified Diabetes Educator designation WHAT YOU WILL GAIN • Experience supporting an early stage preventive nutrition platform • Opportunities to contribute to meaningful product and content decisions • Professional credit on reviewed platform content with your permission • Experience in digital health, product development and cultural adaptation • Opportunities to participate in future workshops and be on camera for educational media and interviews • A professional reference based on successful completion of the term COMPENSATION AND COMMITMENT MyMealAid is currently an early stage pre-revenue company. This is a volunteer opportunity and compensation is not available at this stage. The initial commitment is approximately three to five hours per week. The schedule is flexible. There may be an opportunity to continue with MyMealAid as the company grows. Future employment or compensation cannot be guaranteed. This position does not currently involve providing individualized nutrition counselling, diagnosing conditions or replacing a participant’s healthcare provider.
