Job summary
About the company myStoria is AI-powered, patient-side infrastructure that turns the patient into a contributing node in the healthcare system. We make being a patient dramatically easier — organizing your health, carrying your records, and helping you show up to care prepared. And we're building the layer that makes the patient a true source of truth across a fragmented system. We're a small, fast-moving team that ships constantly. About the role We are looking for a product-minded engineer who is strongest on frontend/mobile, but comfortable working across the stack when needed. You’ll own core user-facing flows in our new mobile-first experience and help us bake AI into the product in practical ways, not just as a buzzword. You should be excited about: Shipping quickly to real users Using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to move faster Working directly with the founder, engineering, product, and clinical team Turning messy real-world health journeys into clean, usable interfaces This is a hands-on role with high ownership, not a management position. What You Will Do Build and ship mobile-first features Implement core flows in our app (onboarding, messaging, timelines, data views, etc.). Work mostly on frontend/mobile, while being comfortable jumping into backend where needed. Integrate AI into real product surfaces Work with product, engineering, and clinical teams to turn LLM capabilities into features (e.g., contextual chat, summarization, routing, smart prompts). Prototype quickly with AI tooling and iterate based on user feedback. Own features end-to-end Take a problem from rough requirements to technical design, implementation, rollout, and monitoring. Make pragmatic decisions around tradeoffs, tech debt, and speed vs. polish. Collaborate tightly with the rest of the engineering team Pair with other engineers on architecture, code reviews, and shared components. Work directly with the founder and Head of Product to shape scope, UX, and roadmap. Give and receive direct feedback; push back when something doesn’t make sense. Build for security and reliability from day one Handle sensitive health data with care and good judgment. Contribute to patterns that keep our stack secure and maintainable as we scale. Our current stack You don’t need all of these on day one, but you should be comfortable picking up similar technologies quickly. Frontend/mobile: React / React Native, Next.js Backend: Node.js / TypeScript, APIs (REST/GraphQL), serverless / BaaS (e.g., Convex, Firebase, or similar) Data & infra: Postgres or similar, GCP/AWS, auth, basic observability AI: LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), prompt design, retrieval patterns You might be a fit if you: Have 4+ years of experience building production web or mobile products. Are strongest in frontend/mobile (React / React Native or similar) but have enough backend experience to build and debug APIs, data models, and integrations. Have shipped real features that users touch every day, not just internal tools or prototypes. Use AI tools as leverage: You already use ChatGPT / Copilot / Cursor or similar to speed up your work. You’re comfortable reading and critiquing AI-generated code instead of blindly trusting it. You care about UX, edge cases, and whether something actually solves the user’s problem. Are comfortable with ambiguity and constraint You can work with incomplete specs and help define what “v1” should be. You’re okay with switching contexts when priorities change. Care about privacy and ethics in health and AI. Nice to have Experience with: Mobile apps in production (App Store / Play Store). Healthtech, PHI, or regulated environments. Chat-based interfaces or LLM-powered products. Analytics and experimentation (feature flags, A/B tests, product metrics). Previously worked in a 0 → 1 or seed/Series A environment. What we offer Competitive salary for seed stage + meaningful equity in the form of stock options. Direct impact: your work will be in the hands of patients quickly Tight feedback loop with real users and clinicians A small, senior team that cares more about outcomes than ceremonies Flexibility in where and how you work, as long as you deliver
