Advancement at Nanowave is dependent on two main factors: A person’s in-depth knowledge of their subject area The ability and willingness to work as a member of a diverse team of professionals to meet the company’s commitments to customers About the Role We are looking for a candidate with very strong Computer Aided Design skills combined with the willingness and ability to perform hands-on laboratory characterization and testing. Responsibilities: Systems Architecture & Analysis: Conceive, design, simulate, and analyze high-reliability communications and radar systems for aerospace and space platforms. System design includes: RF EPC Control electronics Packaging Thermal Reliability (FMEA, Worst Case Analysis, etc.) Radiation susceptibility (TID, TNID, SEE) on EEE components EMI/EMC Knowledge of Relevant Industry Standards: The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of and apply: MILSPECs ECSS standards NASA standards Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed documentation including: Development plans Risk management documents Test plans and procedures Comprehensive test reports to meet MIL, ECSS, and NASA standards Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient transformation of design into hardware with minimum iterations Provide clear technical documentation and guidance across different engineering disciplines Serve as a technical point of contact during internal/external design reviews and compliance evaluations Simulation & Tools: High level of skill and familiarity with software tools such as: SystemVue ADS HFSS MATLAB SPICE simulations Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or a related field) from a recognized institution Preferred: Ph.D. A minimum of 8 years’ experience in electronic systems engineering, with a strong focus on complex RF architecture, analysis, and documentation Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without employer sponsorship. Experience working within the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) environment is considered an asset. Must be able to obtain CGP registration. Required Skills Extensive experience in systems architecture, with a proven record of designing and analyzing complex systems Broad technical knowledge including: RF, Power Conditioning, and Control electronics Mechanical, structural, and thermal design principles Preferred Skills Management of complex hardware/software integration projects related to space, aerospace, or defense Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers Nanowave is committed to transparent, fair, and equitable hiring practices in full compliance with Canadian federal and provincial requirements.
